About the Position

We are looking for highly motivated and customer-focused individuals to fill the role of Sports Attendant at our facility in Edinburgh, Scotland.

This position involves delivering high-quality customer experiences and contributing to a safe, secure, and clean environment for users.

The working hours will be based on a rota, including evenings and some weekends, with line management by the Sports Hub Manager. Seasonal hours will be available for sports coaching during school holidays and assisting with holiday camps.

You will work with various stakeholders, both internally and externally within the local community. Effective interaction with children, adults, parents, teachers, staff, and colleagues is essential for this role. A genuine interest in sport and helping others are also required.

As a Sports Attendant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and maintenance in all areas of the facility, both inside and outside. This includes cleaning programs for the fitness room and sports equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and maintenance in all areas of the facility.
  • Provide support at Reception, handling telephone calls and emails, and liaising with service users.
  • Manage sports equipment setup and takedown, ensuring timely bookings and start/finish times.
  • Supervise patrons using equipment while in the facility, including teams, adults, teenagers, and children.
  • Deal with customer queries confidently and positively, in person and over the telephone.
  • Handle admissions, bookings, equipment rentals, and phone duties.
  • Open and close New Field pitches and facilities, ensuring a safe and clean environment for customers.
  • Pitch inspections of New Field pitches to ensure litter-free conditions and report any defects or breakages.
  • Support unique events and assist with external events.
Key Requirements
  • Previous experience working in a school setting, gym, or fitness centre and/or customer-facing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to adhere to and follow instructions for current industry guidance, ensuring Health and Safety standards are met.
  • Certification in coaching or fitness (NPLQ Trainer/Assessor) (desirable).
  • First Aid certificate (desirable).
  • Organised and punctual.
  • Keen interest in sport and fitness.

Our estimated salary range for this position is £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a competitive offer for the Edinburgh area.
