Speech and Language Teaching Assistant Opportunity

SANZA Teaching Agency is pleased to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded, Outstanding-rated primary school in Clapton, Hackney.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized speech and language interventions for students, implementing strategies as outlined by the Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Lead small group sessions to foster language development, promote communication skills, and support social interaction among students.
  • Monitor student progress, ensuring that all interventions are effective and objectives are being met. Provide detailed reports and feedback to the Speech and Language Therapist and teaching staff.
  • Develop and prepare resources tailored to the needs of individual students, ensuring materials are aligned with the speech and language goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, and other staff members to incorporate speech and language strategies within classroom activities and the broader school curriculum.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers to provide updates on their child's progress and offer advice on supporting language development at home.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering one-to-one speech and language interventions.
  • Competence in following and implementing guidance provided by Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Strong organizational abilities to track, monitor, and document student progress effectively.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's communication and language development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
  • Adaptability and creativity in the development of resources and strategies to meet varying student needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to making a positive impact on students' learning experiences.
