About this Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of IT to join us on a part-time basis, ideally 2 days a week, and help us position the Company for a period of rapid scaling.

The successful candidate will have had a wide exposure to different functions within the field of technology and will be as comfortable advising on strategic objectives as they are working on the hands-on day to day.

  • Review and propose recommendations for a scalable technology function for Fideres, including outsourced IT support, information security, cyber security, and internal software/data engineers
  • Develop business plans for technology to support Fideres's strategy
  • Act as the key point of contact for our current and future outsourced IT support providers
  • Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place
  • Work closely with the COO to ensure technology solutions align fully with business needs
  • Prepare and run RfPs for future technology needs
  • Work closely with our Head of People and COO to on staffing, training and hiring plans
  • Coach and mentor key stakeholders
  • Other IT related projects as required

Key Skills and Attributes

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Prior experience in a CTO or similar role for a research driven consulting business
  • In depth knowledge of software infrastructure and IT support
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to align strategy and business needs
  • Ability to explain complex topics to non-specialists
  • Relevant academic credentials
  • Willingness to be both strategic and hands-on
  • Commercial and intellectual acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.
