Coveris - Winsford is a leading global manufacturer of high-performance packaging solutions. Our Winsford site produces polythene film for various industries, including agricultural, industrial, and food-based sectors.
The Role
We are seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join our Engineering department. As part of a team, the successful candidate will provide breakdown and maintenance support on a diverse range of plastic film producing machinery and ancillary equipment.
The successful candidate will work on a 4 on, 4 off shift rotation, with a mix of day and night shifts. The salary for this role starts at £43,673 per annum, with opportunities for progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all equipment on site is in a safe condition and compliant with current Health & Safety regulations.
- Respond to machine faults across the site, as directed by Engineering Cell Managers or Production Cell Manager.
- Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance as directed by Engineering Management.
- Record breakdown and maintenance activities for all work undertaken on site.
- Interact with onsite Engineering stores personnel, including booking parts and sourcing alternatives.
- Participate in meetings, supervision, and training as required.
- Undertake other duties commensurate with the grade of the post.
Requirements
- A keen interest and understanding of engineering principles.
- Attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Proactive, positive, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Experience in using Microsoft Office.
Desirable Qualifications
- A recognised Engineering apprenticeship to ONC/HNC or equivalent Engineering qualification.
- Working knowledge of electrical controls (PLCs, Contractors, Relays, VSDs, etc.).
- Working knowledge of weighing and tension systems (Load cells, etc.).
- An understanding of pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
- Experience of engineering systems, including planned preventative maintenance.
