Civil Site Manager Job Description

Berkshire Talent Partnership is seeking a skilled Civil Site Manager to lead a Gas Peaking plant project in Essex. This is a 12-18 month contract with opportunities for extension and career growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure H&S performance meets company standards and report on safety metrics.
  • Develop and implement safety improvement strategies.
  • Create construction execution plans for the project.
  • Comply with CDM regulations and ensure contractors adhere to policies.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation, including CPP and Traffic Management Plans.
  • Arrange adequate welfare facilities and ensure contractors are qualified and experienced.
  • Implement permit-to-work and RAMS review procedures.
  • Contribute to project scheduling and monitoring, ensuring the construction team provides lookahead and holds regular meetings.
  • Assist organisational leadership in delivering portfolio objectives.
  • Develop and implement project inspection and test plans, ensuring quality management.
  • Resource planning and risk management for projects.
  • Ensure project closure and contractor obligations are met.
  • Oversight of contractor H&S requirements and method statements.
  • Ensure company compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Establish effective communication with project stakeholders.
  • Manage projects in accordance with the project execution plan and procedures.
  • Coordinate handover and ensure inspections and tests are completed at practical completion.
  • Mitigate the impact of claims under relevant contracts.
