Job Title: Civils Site Manager & Supervisor

Location: Thurrock, Essex

Mint Selection is partnering with the UK's leading IPP to seek an experienced Civils Site Manager & Supervisor to oversee and manage the civil construction aspects of a large-scale BESS project. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising all civil works, ensuring that construction activities are carried out safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all civil construction activities on-site, including earthworks, foundations, drainage, roads, and structures related to the BESS and Gas Peaking facilities.
  • Manage a team of civil engineers, foremen, technicians, and subcontractors, ensuring all work is performed according to project specifications, timelines, and budget.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of all project components.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.
  • Identify and rectify any defects or issues promptly to avoid project delays.
  • Conduct safety briefings, risk assessments, and ensure all personnel are adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties safely.
  • Develop and maintain detailed civil work schedules, ensuring alignment with overall project timelines.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager and other stakeholders to provide regular updates on progress, risks, and issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of all civil work, including daily logs, inspection reports, and material usage.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager.
  • Assist in the preparation of final project documentation, including as-built drawings and operation manuals.

Requirements:

  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • CSCS
  • CPCS Lifting Ticket preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a civil supervisory role within the construction or energy sector.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale civil construction projects from earthworks through to commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including structural, geotechnical, and environmental aspects.

This is an initial 12-month contract with a high probability of extension and it is also Outside IR35.
