Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Government and Defence Internal Account Manager to join our UK Road Logistics department. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to take on a challenging role and contribute to the success of our organisation.

Your Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and growing existing accounts in our Government client base. This will involve providing high levels of customer service and operational support to our Government client base by processing and monitoring shipments, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations, and working closely with the customs department and customers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage operational taskings for Government contracts from start to completion
  • Liaise with all relevant parties throughout the shipment to organise the movement of goods
  • Deal with any issues that may arise during a shipment and ensure the client is updated
  • Work with the customs department and customer to ensure full compliance with HMRC regulations and accordance with specific customer SOPs
  • Ensure that all compliance and related trainings are up to date
  • Ensure where necessary that all transit conditions for military rated items are adhered to
  • Process sales and purchase invoices
  • Aiding in the completion of other departmental work to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the department as a whole
  • Be responsible for your own safety and health and that of colleagues; in accordance with company safety and health rules

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a solid understanding of freight forwarding processes, strong customer service abilities, and excellent management skills. If you have knowledge in customs, it is an asset. You will be working in a fast-paced environment and must be able to handle pressure well and work to deadlines.
