About the Role:
As a Senior Adult Community Mental Health Specialist at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a key role in shaping clinical leadership decisions and driving excellence in community-based mental health services. We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our General Adult Intensive Outreach Team, working collaboratively with colleagues to provide comprehensive care for individuals with complex and enduring mental health needs.

About the Position:
This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to lead by example, fostering innovation and growth within our team. You will be responsible for providing medical review and advice to GPs, liaison teams, and hospitals as needed, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across services. Your expertise will be invaluable in preparing reports and attending tribunals, advocating for patients on Community Treatment Orders and those subject to Section 37/41 of the Mental Health Act 1983.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
  • A Certificate of Completion of Training in General Adult Psychiatry or CESR equivalent.
  • Inclusion on the GMC's Specialist Register or eligibility for inclusion.
We also expect applicants to possess experience in teaching undergraduates and postgraduates, as well as evidence of involvement in medical audit and understanding of principles of clinical governance. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deliver care in collaboration with service users are essential.
