About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our General Adult Intensive Outreach Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide comprehensive community-based mental health services that meet the needs of our local population.

As a Clinical Leader, you will work closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality treatment, care, and support for individuals with complex and enduring mental health problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct medical reviews of patients as agreed in multi-disciplinary meetings.
  • Attend management and academic meetings, including regular sessions with the Medical Council, Community Consultants Meeting, and Team Quality & Safety Meeting.
  • Provide advice to GPs, Liaison Teams, and Hospitals on mental health matters.
  • Prepare reports and attend mental health tribunals for patients on Community Treatment Orders.
  • Review and prepare reports for patients subject to Section 37/41 of the Mental Health Act 1983.
Requirements
  • A Certificate of Completion of Training in General Adult Psychiatry (ST6 trainees should be within six months of attainment at the time of interview) or CESR equivalent.
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register or eligibility for inclusion Section 12 (2) MHA 1983 approval and Approved Clinician.
