Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Community Support Casework Team Leader to join our team at West Sussex County Council. As a key member of our Communities Service, you will play a vital role in supporting refugees to achieve their full potential.

The Community Support Casework Service is an integral part of our Communities Directorate, working collaboratively with Social Care and Education and Skills to ensure that all refugees receive the right help, coordinated support, and protection from the County Council and our partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a locality-based team providing direct intervention to refugees through targeted support and partnership working with dedicated schools or health teams.
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure policies and practice are adhered to through quality assurance processes.
  • Work collaboratively with peers across the directorate to ensure the needs of refugees are met.
  • Communicate effectively with members of the public, including refugees, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Passion for working with migrants and ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to raising standards in practice to directly lead to better outcomes for refugees.
  • Experience of being placed under significant emotional demand by the stories of the people you work with.
  • Enhanced DBS required.
Working Arrangements

Hybrid working arrangement - one day in Chichester office and one day in Crawley office. Ability to travel independently to various meeting venues and other locations across the County.
