About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Design Engineer to join our team at Brother Industries (U.K.) Ltd. in Wrexham, North Wales. As a key member of our automation department, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and improving our production lines and equipment for use in the UK and other Brother production facilities worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed designs using CAD software to create bespoke automated equipment and production lines.
  • Conduct research and analysis to ensure design feasibility and optimization, incorporating smart factory and Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of designs, modifications, and project progress.
  • Prepare project costings, including BOMs, and perform testing and validation to ensure design performance and reliability.
  • Provide support for modifications and design changes found at build and commissioning stages of the project.
Requirements
  • Education to a degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a similar subject.
  • Experience in equipment design and development, with a strong knowledge of 3D CAD and industrial automation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
