About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Design Engineer to join our team in Wrexham, North Wales. As a key member of our automation department, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and improving our production lines and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed designs using CAD software to optimize production processes and improve product quality.
  • Conduct research and analysis to ensure design feasibility and optimization, and create detailed documentation of designs, modifications, and project progress.
  • Prepare project costings, including Bill of Materials (BOMs), and perform testing and validation to ensure design performance and reliability.
  • Provide support for modifications and design changes found at build and commissioning stages of the project, and troubleshoot existing equipment in BIUK and other group companies.
Requirements
  • Education to a degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a similar subject.
  • Experience in equipment design and development, with a strong knowledge of 3D CAD and industrial automation and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good communication and teamwork abilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
