- Maintain the standards and traditions of our dining areas and function rooms, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Prioritize and complete daily tasks efficiently, managing multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
- Set and clear dining rooms for use, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
- Supervise casual service staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Assist with the timely ordering and management of provisions for the Servery.
- Develop a basic working knowledge of our Formal Hall booking system and till system.
- Assist in the care and safe keeping of our College silver.
- Assist in the recording of internal College charges.
- Prepare conference rooms and serve refreshments to conference delegates, providing AV/IT support as needed.
- Adhere to health and safety and food hygiene regulations and procedures.
- Report possible hazards and/or equipment failures and accidents to the Catering Manager.
- Observe COSHH regulations and risk assessments, as required.
- Be responsible for the hygienic maintenance of all work environs within the College.
The post is full-time, with a fixed and planned rota that provides a range of different shifts, including many straight shifts. You will work 80 hours over a two-week basis, including meal breaks, with a set day off every week and alternate weekends on and off.
There will be some scope to earn overtime, paid at time and a half or double time for Bank Holidays, or offered as lieu time instead.
