About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at ChatterBug Speech and Language Therapy Service. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality services to children and families, helping them to develop their communication skills and overcome speech and language difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnoses of children with a range of Speech and Language Communication Needs (SLCN), including complex needs.
  • Treatment and Support: Develop and implement effective speech and language therapy treatment plans, providing support to children, families, and other professionals as needed.
  • Client-Focused Approach: Ensure a client-focused approach to assessment and treatment, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each child and family.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other professionals, sharing information and working together to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Continuing Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and professional guidelines, applying this knowledge to improve services and outcomes for children and families.
Requirements
  • Professional Qualifications: Hold a professional degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy, and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience: Have experience working with children with SLCN in a variety of settings, including schools, clinics, and community-based services.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and other professionals. Have a strong understanding of speech and language development, assessment, and treatment, as well as relevant laws and policies.
