About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Management Director to join our team at Aztec. As a key member of our Risk Team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.

Key Responsibilities
  1. ERM Framework Development

Support the ongoing development and maturity of our ERM framework, ensuring it aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Risk Assessments and Reviews

Conduct regular risk assessments and reviews of our risk framework to ensure its effectiveness and relevance to our risk profile.

Risk Identification and Monitoring

Identify, assess, and monitor key risks across the Group, including operational, financial, legal, regulatory, compliance, and strategic risks.

Risk Management Guidance

Collaborate with senior management across business functions and other stakeholders to provide guidance and support on risk management practices.

Risk Mitigation Strategies

Partner with Risk Managers across multiple jurisdictions to drive implementation of risk mitigation strategies and controls to minimize identified risks.

Risk Training and Awareness

Provide training and guidance to staff on risk management principles and practices.

Industry Trends and Regulatory Updates

Stay updated on relevant industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to ensure our risk framework remains current and effective.

Risk Assessment Workshops

Lead risk assessment workshops with senior stakeholders across business functions.

Risk Reporting and Analysis

Prepare and present risk reports and analysis to senior management across Aztec.

Risk Taxonomy Development

Play a leading role in the development of Aztec's risk taxonomy, including Level III risk development.

Risk Management Policies and Procedures

Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.

GRC System Implementation

In time, support the implementation of a GRC system.

Risk Business Partnering

In time, support the implementation of risk business partnering and act as a business partner for key Group functions.

Stakeholder Management
  1. Relationship Building

Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, business contacts, and senior stakeholders, and be seen as an escalation point for risk-related queries.

Board and Committee Representation

Attend, as required, board meetings, senior committees, and forums as a Risk representative.

Independent Advice and Challenge

Provide independent advice, insight, and constructive challenge to senior stakeholders in the first line of defence on the management of risk.

Requirements
  1. Technical Expertise

Deep technical knowledge and expertise in risk management, including risk appetite, key risk indicators, risk and control assessments, incident and issues management, and risk taxonomy development.

Presentation Skills

Advanced presentation skills, including the use of Microsoft PowerPoint.

Commercial Acumen

Ability to interpret and balance commercial issues within the confines of the risk management framework.

Technical Skills

A strong working knowledge of Microsoft products, including Excel and Word, and an aptitude for analytics.

Relevant Experience

Demonstrable relevant prior experience, preferably within a financial services environment (candidates with alternative backgrounds will be considered).

Results Orientation

Results-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of prioritizing and organizing workloads, with the ability to lead multiple projects and risk management activities.

Regulatory Knowledge

Working understanding of regulatory concepts.

Travel Requirements

May be required to travel to other Group locations as required from time to time.
