Hunter Mental Health is currently collaborating with a top Child Protection Team to find a qualified Locum Senior Social Worker. Our workplace offers flexible, hybrid working hours, allowing staff to balance office time with remote work. This arrangement provides the camaraderie and support that was prevalent before the COVID-19 pandemic.

We seek skilled social workers with 2 years of post-AYSE experience to join our team and contribute to the safety and well-being of children and their families. The ideal candidate will be part of a dynamic and supportive team working with children on the Child Protection Register, families under Pre-Proceedings, and Court cases.

  • Job Title: Qualified Locum Social Worker- Children Safeguarding
  • Location: Cardiff
  • Duration: 3 months ongoing
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm
  • Start Date: January 2025
  • Rate of pay: £36 - £38 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Conducting comprehensive assessments and providing effective care management services in the area of specialism (Disabled children and their families).
  2. Developing recommendations for service provision in accordance with the Children's services threshold and eligibility criteria.
  3. Providing a high-quality social work service to designated service users.
  4. Managing, monitoring, and reviewing care plans, involving disabled children and young people and their families, and collaborating with other workers and agencies as necessary.
  5. Maintaining awareness of available resources within the specialist area, including alternative funding sources to optimize benefits for families.
  6. Adhering to the Children Services recording policy and completing relevant forms and documents as required.
  7. Participating in training and professional development activities as needed.
  8. Utilizing proven experience in a Social Working role.
  9. Demonstrating dedication to providing exceptional patient care.
  10. Possessing a valid car driver's license to travel across multiple sites.
  11. Being fully adaptable to on-site and hybrid/remote working arrangements.
