We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Care Assistant Professional to join our team at ELM Alliance LTD.
Job Overview
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HCA to work in a primary care setting, delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the Practice Nurse in the organisation of clinics.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient care, working under supervision and independently as part of a collaborative team.
- Deliver healthcare related duties, including the delivery of patient care, practice stock management, and health and wellbeing initiatives.
- Support the Practice Nurse in the organisation of clinics and contribute to achieving good outcomes in CQC, QOF, enhanced services, and local improvement schemes.
- Ensure awareness of statutory and local clinical protection procedures, including systems of referral, and recognise signs and symptoms of child abuse.
- Obtain and document informed consent, either verbal or written, and ensure infection control guidelines are implemented and followed.
- Monitor and manage maintenance of stock and equipment, including refrigeration and emergency equipment, and monitor under CQC.
- Assess patient health needs, provide health education, and develop care plans with the Practice Nurse for health.
- Recognise and manage anaphylaxis according to current UK guidelines and perform Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
- Support the practice and PCN delivery of the Covid response/vaccine delivery and participate in the organisation and administration of immunisations programmes.
- Undertake health surveillance/screening, including seasonal influenza vaccines/B12, new patient health checks, over 75 health checks, electrocardiograph recording, blood pressure monitoring, hypertension monitoring, pulse rate recording, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, phlebotomy, dressings, and suture removal.
- Support patients to adopt healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-care.
Requirements
- Experience in undertaking patient appointments, diagnostics, and healthcare support.
- Understanding of the GP Practice environment, including systems and processes, and particularly confidentiality.
- A commitment to maintaining clinical skills and knowledge to ensure evidence-based care.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Time management skills/ability to work to deadlines.
- Flexibility to work outside core office hours.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is £25,000-£35,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including opportunities for professional development and a supportive work environment.
