Quality Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Manager to join our team at The Lubrizol Corporation. As a Quality Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the site maintains ISO 9001:2015 certification by supporting adherence to procedures and developing and ensuring adherence to internal, external, and customer audit programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the site maintains ISO 9001:2015 certification by supporting adherence to procedures and developing and ensuring adherence to internal, external, and customer audit programs.
  • Provide site-wide leadership to supply finished goods to our customers in the most effective way, ensuring attention to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), quality, cost, and time.
  • Ensure timely testing is carried out of plant-produced material, including extension testing or rework determination of existing inventory, to maximize on-time deliveries and keep inventory on target.
  • Coach direct reports and ensure they are trained and developed to meet production goals.
  • Prevent product quality complaints by ensuring the appropriate release of acceptable quality material produced at the site.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other related STEM discipline.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in the Chemical industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of technical background, regulatory requirements, and industry standards for processing and manufacture of dispersants.
  • Demonstrated ability in the area of product transfer and scale-up, from lab bench to manufacturing, and/or to commercial scale, including process design, design of experiments, and statistical applications to support process evaluation and trending.
  • Demonstrated ability to write procedural documents required for compliance to ISO 9001:2015, including documents such as Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
  • Auditor experience, preferably with experience coordinating external audits.
  • Capacity to collaborate and coach others.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with an emphasis on the ability to analyze large data sets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent planning and time management skills, meeting company and business deadlines.
  • Excellent people management and supervision skills.
  • Ability to understand and develop new test procedures.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proactively adapts to changes in the business and supports peers in the management team with implementation.
  • Above-average knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
