Job Summary

Thames Hospice is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distribution Centre Assistant Manager to join our Retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, receiving and processing of donated stock, and distributing to all our retail shops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the distribution centre team to ensure efficient and effective operation of the warehouse
  • Oversee the receipt and processing of donated stock, ensuring accurate inventory management and timely distribution to retail shops
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve warehouse efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with the Retail team to ensure seamless delivery of stock to shops
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including stock levels, delivery times, and customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a distribution centre or warehouse environment, with a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and procedures
