We are seeking a highly skilled Gravitational Wave Research Specialist to join our team at the University of Glasgow.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious researcher to contribute to our cutting-edge research in gravitational wave detection. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our experienced researchers to design, develop, and commission advanced laser stabilisation and cryogenic suspension systems for future gravitational wave detectors.

You will be responsible for planning and conducting assigned research, contributing to the acquisition, commissioning, maintenance, and integration of experimental apparatus, and developing and enhancing your research profile and reputation.

What You'll Need:
  • A PhD in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including public presentations and teamwork
  • Strong experimental and data analysis skills, including knowledge of laser stabilisation and suspension design and characterisation techniques
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working

  • An estimated salary of £32,332 - £36,024 per annum, depending on experience
