Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner

Whittington Health is seeking a Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner to join their team. The successful candidate will be employed by Whittington Health and managed by a CAMHS clinician to train for a one-year postgraduate qualification (PG Diploma Child and Young Persons Psychological Wellbeing Practice) through University College London.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner will be responsible for delivering evidence-based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. They will work in partnership with children, young people, and families to support them in the self-management of presenting difficulties.
The post holder will attend all university-based taught and self-study days required by the education provider and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills. They will be expected to work full-time and be available for all training days from January 2025.
RequirementsThe successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Psychology or a related subject, or any subject with further training or experience in a relevant field. They will also have evidence of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties and be able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients.
The candidate will be able to manage their own caseload and time, and have the ability to study as a self-motivated learner and implement training with appropriate support. They will also have high standards in written and verbal communication and be able to work well with other professionals and colleagues.
