Environmental Advisor Role

Ward Recycling, a leading waste management and recycling company, is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join their team. As a key member of the Environment and Sustainability Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring environmental regulatory requirements and commitments are met, and the delivery of Ward's ambitious Sustainability Strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead activities and actions relating to new permits and submit permit variations where required, ensuring all requirements are completed.
  • Oversee Action Plans to ensure all required recommendations and improvements are completed on time and in full, escalating issues and concerns if any arise.
  • Develop and update site-specific Environmental Management Plans.
  • Promote environmental awareness through training, briefings, and other communication methods.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to improve Environmental Performance.
  • Conduct Environmental Site Inspections as needed.
  • Produce quarterly environment reports, submit pollution inventories, and assist colleagues with Environmental Accreditations.
  • Support the Department with administering, sampling, testing, and WM3.
  • Be the focal point for environmental issues.
Requirements:
  • Change management or experience working in a changing environment.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills.
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and oral skills, including presentation and report-writing.
  • Degree or equivalent in environmental or related subject.
  • Practical experience of environmental and waste management.
  • Experience of working in a regulated industry preferred.
