Therapeutic Care Worker

We are seeking a Therapeutic Care Worker to join our team at SGS Care Ltd. As a Therapeutic Care Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality therapeutic caregiving to children and young people in our care.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. To provide high-quality therapeutic caregiving on a shift pattern, including days, evenings, waking nights, weekends, bank holidays, sleeping-in duties, and lone working (subject to risk assessment).
  2. To work closely with children and young people to understand their wishes and feelings about all aspects of their welfare, recording and acting upon this in their interest.
  3. To implement admission protocols to ensure that children feel welcomed and fully informed about what is expected of them and what they can expect from our organisation.
  4. To engage children and young people in developmentally appropriate activities to build their competence, confidence, and trust in adults.
  5. To attend all meetings as required to support children and young people and/or advocate for them to ensure their voice is heard and best outcomes achieved.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is £33,000 per annum, with additional pay for up to 3 sleeps per month (£50 per sleep) and overtime opportunities. We also offer a range of benefits, including professional development opportunities and a supportive team environment.

Requirements:
  • A Level 3 qualification in Children's Residential Care (or equivalent) or working towards this.
  • A minimum of one year's experience in residential childcare or a related field.
  • A UK driving licence is required.
