Domestic Abuse Support Worker

Morgan Hunt is seeking a skilled and compassionate Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join our team on a permanent basis. As an Evening Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, homelessness, and young parents in the Northwest England region.
Key Responsibilities- Client Support: Provide assistance to new referrals, complete move-in procedures, and ensure a smooth transition for clients into our accommodation services.
- Building Maintenance: Maintain the upkeep and security of the building, including cash and equipment management.
- Risk Assessments: Conduct regular risk assessments for activities, including 1-1 and group work, and update the Domestic Abuse Support Worker on any changes or incidents.
- Documentation: Record and maintain accurate documentation on client databases, including SMART plans and risk assessments.
- Group Work: Facilitate evening group work sessions, promoting engagement and involvement among clients.
- Financial Management: Work within the project's budget, adhering to financial policies and procedures.
- Security and Safety: Monitor the security and safety of the premises, including CCTV, front door entry systems, and alarm systems.
- Client Records: Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including contact notes, correspondence, and incident reporting.
- Anti-Social Behaviour: Address instances of anti-social behaviour or neighbour nuisance, responding appropriately according to escalation procedures.
- Professional Boundaries: Uphold GDPR, confidentiality, and professional boundaries in all aspects of daily practice.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Domestic Abuse, IDVA, ISVA, or equivalent diploma/degree/NVQ 3 or equivalent work-level experience.
- Experience: Extensive understanding of individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, with knowledge of working as part of a team and managing time effectively.
- Skills: Ability to plan, promote, and deliver group work sessions, with knowledge of assessing and implementing risk assessments, including DASH Ric.
- Knowledge: Understanding of the impact of multiple disadvantages, complex support needs, and homelessness, with knowledge of welfare benefits and relative legislation.
