We are seeking an experienced Conveyancing Specialist to join our team at Avocet Legal in Plymouth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support fee earners in managing residential property transactions, ensuring seamless communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Handle client correspondence, maintaining accurate records of all interactions.
  • Prepare and process legal documentation, including contracts, transfers, and mortgage deeds, adhering to relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Conduct property searches and review results, providing timely updates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors to facilitate smooth transaction progression.
  • Maintain accurate case files and update case management systems, ensuring compliance with SRA regulations.
  • Assist with post-completion matters, including SDLT returns and registration, to ensure timely and efficient closure of transactions.
  • Monitor deadlines and chase outstanding information from various parties, ensuring prompt resolution of any issues that may arise.
  • Prepare completion statements and bills, accurately reflecting transaction details and costs.
  • Handle client funds in accordance with SRA regulations, maintaining transparency and accountability throughout the process.
Requirements:
  • Previous residential conveyancing experience (minimum 2 years) is essential, with a strong understanding of the conveyancing process and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, enabling effective prioritisation and task management.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring precision and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, facilitating effective collaboration with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, meeting deadlines and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Professional and client-focused approach, demonstrating a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team, leveraging strengths to achieve shared goals.
