We are currently seeking an experienced Conveyancing Specialist to join our team at Avocet Legal in Plymouth.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting fee earners in managing residential property transactions from start to completion. This will involve handling client correspondence, preparing and processing legal documentation, conducting property searches, and liaising with estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors.

Responsibilities:
  • Support fee earners in managing residential property transactions.
  • Handle client correspondence and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare and process legal documentation, including contracts, transfers, and mortgage deeds.
  • Conduct property searches and review results.
  • Liaise with estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors.
  • Maintain accurate case files and update case management systems.
  • Assist with post-completion matters, including SDLT returns and registration.
  • Monitor deadlines and chase outstanding information.
  • Prepare completion statements and bills.
  • Handle client funds in accordance with SRA regulations.
Requirements:
  • Previous residential conveyancing experience (minimum 2 years).
  • Strong understanding of the conveyancing process and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • Professional and client-focused approach.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
