Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team of professionals who make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Student Learning
- Provide individual and small group support to students with SEN, ensuring they engage with learning tasks effectively.
- Assist in implementing Individual Healthcare Plans (IHCPs) and Education, Care, and Support Plans (ECPs) tailored to each student's specific needs.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and SENCOs.
- Help to create and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students.
- Support students in managing their emotions and behaviour, promoting positive interactions.
- Assist with the physical and personal care needs of students, where necessary.
- Work collaboratively with external professionals, such as speech and language therapists, to deliver targeted support.
- Promote an inclusive environment, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.
Qualifications and Skills
- Desirable Qualifications
- CACHE Level 2 or 3 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare is desirable.
- A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is advantageous.
- Previous experience as a SEN TA or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and adaptability.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is £83.33 - £90.00 per day, providing a competitive rate for experienced professionals.
This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
