About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Security Officer to join our team at Securitas Security Services.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who value flexibility and enjoy working in a dynamic environment. Our ideal candidate will be available to work 42 hours per week on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, covering days, nights, and weekends.

No prior SIA certification is required, as we provide comprehensive training to equip you with the necessary skills to succeed in this role. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a career path with opportunities for overtime and professional growth.

As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a secure environment and upholding safety standards. You will also have the chance to make a meaningful impact in the community and contribute to our mission to protect people and assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of the site security team to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Conduct internal and external patrols, as well as other security duties, in various weather conditions.
  • Control access to the site at multiple control points, including vehicle barriers and reception stations.
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the perimeter and site buildings through physical and vehicle patrols.
  • Evaluate visitor requirements and ensure compliance with access control measures and identification checks.
  • Participate in musters, evacuations, and other emergency roles as required.
  • Search vehicles to maintain high levels of security and meet client requirements.
  • Perform locking and unlocking duties according to Assignment Instructions (AIs).
  • Record incidents, reports, and paperwork in a clear and legible fashion.
  • Provide a visible and proactive security presence for all employees and visitors.
  • Register contractors, issue temporary badges, book in/out cars, and direct visitors.
  • Control access and egress, conduct security patrols to deter crime, and manage traffic.
  • Help maintain site security by conducting internal patrols and car searches.
  • Operate the control room/gatehouse and reception systems.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Resident in the UK for at least 5 years (for BPSS / SC purposes)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • First Aid at Work
  • Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable education or employment history
  • Reliable, punctual, and well-presented at all times
  • Customer-focused, polite, tactful, and discreet
