Job Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Pediatrician Consultant to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled and dedicated professional to lead our general pediatric medicine department and contribute their expertise in diabetes care.

About the Role

This full-time consultant position comes with an estimated salary of £101,995 - £154,916 per annum. The ideal candidate will have completed higher specialist training in pediatric medicine and be on the specialist register or within 6 months of obtaining CCT or equivalent at the time of interview.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing expert care to patients with general pediatric medicine needs, including those with diabetes;
  • Lecturing medical students and junior medical staff on pediatric medicine topics;
  • Auditing and improving clinical practices within the department;
  • Conducting research and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals;
  • Developing and implementing educational programs for multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
  • MBChB or equivalent degree;
  • Postgraduate qualification (MRCPCH or equivalent);
  • Completion of higher specialist training in pediatric medicine;
  • Specialist registration or within 6 months of obtaining CCT or equivalent;
  • Demonstrable experience in assessing and examining children with safeguarding concerns;
  • Publication history or commitment to developing research in the Trust;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities.
