Job Title: Assistant Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team at Page Personnel Finance. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting our busy accounting and finance team in an international transport and distribution industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day activities, including data entry, financial reporting, and assisting with audits.
  • Provide monthly accounting records data to accountants for four subsidiary companies based around the world.
  • Assist with yearly audits of companies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Update purchase invoices register, process payments for suppliers invoices, and prepare draft sales invoices.
  • Review debit card and credit card expenses reports, VAT returns, and confirm submission with accountants.
  • Update cashbook excel sheets for all companies, assist with budget preparation, and liaise with team for any queries.
  • Prepare payroll summary for all four companies, send to accountants to record on system, and review employees expenses claims.
  • Process salary via Wages Protection System or Bank Transfer, send payslips to employees, and open Bank accounts when requested.
Requirements:
  • Strong accounting and financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in an international transport and distribution industry.
