Job Title: Specialist Autism Mentor

Beacon Support Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Autism Mentor to support Higher Education students with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC). As a Specialist Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome their disability-related difficulties and achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with ASC, helping them develop coping strategies and techniques to overcome their difficulties.
  • Work closely with students to identify their strengths and areas for improvement, and develop personalized plans to support their academic success.
  • Collaborate with the student's support team to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to their support.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the student's individual needs, and adapt your support accordingly.
Requirements:
  • Hold a degree at minimum, and have had comprehensive training in adult autism.
  • Have experience of working with students in higher or further education.
  • Hold a relevant qualification or certification in autism training, such as the NAS 6 modules and SPELL course.
