Black Country Women's Aid is a leading charity working across the Black Country and wider West Midlands to provide support services to victims of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, and human trafficking.

The Centre for the Analysis of Exploitation (CeAnEx) is a research and engagement project run by Black Country Women's Aid, conducting innovative work to identify and support women who are sexually exploited in the West Midlands.

We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Engagement Officer to join our small, passionate team. The successful candidate will have experience of research and analysis, and will be involved in a variety of activities, including:

  • Visits to sex work locations throughout the West Midlands and, occasionally, elsewhere in the UK
  • Support for victims
  • Joint working with police and partner agencies
  • Analysis of open-source intelligence
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Involvement in BCWA's FCDO-funded Romania Project, aimed at tackling the trafficking of women from Romania to the UK
  • Involvement in BCWA's projects involving Chinese, Hungarian, British, Albanian, Thai, and Brazilian women

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the issues surrounding sexual exploitation and human trafficking, and will be able to work effectively with victims and survivors. They will also have excellent analytical and communication skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct research and analysis on sexual exploitation and human trafficking
  2. Support victims and survivors of sexual exploitation
  3. Work with police and partner agencies to identify and support victims
  4. Collect and analyze data on sexual exploitation and human trafficking
  5. Contribute to the development of new projects and initiatives

Requirements:
