Job Summary:

The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced midwife to join our Maternity Quality and Safety team as a Maternity Quality and Safety Midwife. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinically experienced midwife to make a significant contribution to the improvement of patient safety and quality of care in our maternity service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional and operational support to the Midwifery clinical and management team in relation to Claims, Complaints, Clinical Risk and Governance initiatives and issues.
  • Assist with the day-to-day maternity risk management process and strategy, including the accurate reporting and validation of incidents onto the electronic system.
  • Work closely with the Maternity Quality and Safety team to identify, monitor, and support risk issues within the department, and ensure the workforce takes a proactive approach to mitigating risk and improving safety.
  • Support the implementation of the governance framework across the service through ensuring high-quality internal reporting and communication across the Trust and to external partners.

Requirements:

  • First-level degree in a related healthcare discipline or substantial experiential equivalence.
  • Post-graduate qualification and/or equivalent level of knowledge gained through extensive experience.
  • Service development experience, delivering clinical quality improvements and successful service change.
  • Experience as a Labour ward Co-ordinator Band 7.
  • Experience in all care settings.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a similar role or with a strong background in clinical governance and risk management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
