Lead Technical Excellence in Food Propositions

We're seeking a seasoned professional to lead our food propositions team at Co-op Group. As Head of Technical, you'll be responsible for delivering technical excellence, protecting our brand quality and reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with supplier partners to ensure Co-op products meet technical excellence standards.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for the food business, prioritizing food safety and technical excellence.
  • Engage with the wider food industry to stay at the forefront of insight, science, and knowledge on the future of food.
  • Manage and prioritize risk in high-pressure situations, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Lead a team to successfully deliver against our strategy and goals, developing people on the job.
  • Actively manage our supply base, making nationwide visits to ensure quality and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in food safety, HACCP, GMP, or BSc in Food Science or related subjects.
  • Proven track record in food technical roles, with experience in managing manufacturing sites and supplier relationships.
  • Ability to network and build relationships with the food industry and supplier base.
  • Previous experience leading a team in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
