About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Trade Compliance Specialist to ensure the smooth execution of customs clearance processes for our global exports. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing customs compliance strategies, overseeing import and export processes, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of UK & EU customs laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with relevant customs laws, regulations, and international trade agreements, taking ownership of all necessary HMRC approvals relating to customs duties.
  • Obtain and review all necessary documentation for customs clearance, including bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other required documents.
  • Accurately classify goods according to the UK Trade Tariff and EU CN Codes to determine applicable duties and taxes.
  • Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, government agencies, and internal departments to ensure seamless customs clearance processes.
About the Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience in trade compliance or broader logistics experience within exports is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with various stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
  • A desire to continue developing within a customs compliance career route.
