Chemistry Development Specialist Job Description

RBW Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Chemistry Development Specialist to join our team in Cardiff, UK. The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and experience in developing analytical methods.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Method Development: Develop and validate advanced analytical methods for small molecule intermediates, APIs, and drug products, delivering novel solutions that exceed client expectations.
  • Project Management: Manage and execute analytical projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and meeting client expectations.
  • Troubleshooting: Collaborate with the PR&D team to troubleshoot analytical instruments and resolve complex problems.
  • Safety Leadership: Uphold and model strong safety standards in the laboratory, ensuring compliance and promoting a culture of safety.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: BSc minimum in Organic Chemistry (or related subject) required; PhD is a plus.
  • Analytical Expertise: Proven experience in analytical science, particularly in pharmaceutical or chemical industries.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in developing robust methods using HPLC, GC, and other techniques. Experience with chromatographic data systems from Agilent, Waters, Thermo, Shimadzu, etc.
  • Additional Skills: Knowledge of synthetic chemistry, physical organic chemistry, and/or catalysis is highly preferred. Strong data management and visualization skills are essential.
  • Standards and Safety: Good understanding of applicable standards and HSSE principles.

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum.
