Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Scientific Development Specialist to join our Analytical Team in Cardiff, UK.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and validating analytical methods for pharmaceutical products and intermediates. This will involve working closely with our customers to deliver high-quality science on time.

You will have a strong background in analytical science, with expertise in techniques such as HPLC, GC, and data analysis. Your ability to communicate complex scientific data in a clear and concise manner will be essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and validate analytical methods for small molecule intermediates, API, and drug products.
  • Act as the lead analyst on customer projects, taking personal responsibility for quality, integrity, communication, and delivery of science.
  • Analytical problem-solving and instrument troubleshooting.
  • Application of digital tools and approaches to deliver fast and efficient process understanding for clients.
  • Maintain strong safety standards in the laboratory and act as a role model for the team.
Requirements
  • BSc in Chemistry or related subject, PhD advantageous.
  • Experience in analytical science with expertise in pharmaceutical product development.
  • Proven ability to develop scientifically sound and robust methods of analysis using HPLC, GC, and other related techniques.
  • Experience in writing clear reports from complex analytical data and communicating technical language.
  • Familiarity with common chromatographic data systems from Agilent, Waters, Thermo, Shimadzu, and others.
  • Appreciation of synthetic chemistry, physical organic, and/or catalysis would be beneficial.
  • Well-developed data management and visualization skills.
  • Good knowledge of applicable standards and HSSE understanding.
