Hours of Work: Up to 40 hours per week

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Nuclear Safety Professional to provide technical leadership and expertise in safety management, hazard identification, and risk assessment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in nuclear safety, physics, or a related discipline, and will be able to lead technical teams and mentor junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on safety management, hazard identification, and risk assessment
  • Undertake qualitative and quantitative hazard analysis assessments, including HAZOP and FMEA
  • Develop and review safety management arrangements, including safety cases and ALARP assessments
  • Liaise with regulatory organizations and provide support to engineering substantiation activities
  • Manage and lead safety case activities and teams

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in safety within nuclear, defense, or another highly regulated industry
  • Honours degree or equivalent in physics, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline
  • Chartered status or working towards it
  • Able to produce and review high-quality technical reports
  • Able to lead technical teams and mentor junior staff
  • Able to identify their own technical limitations
  • Able to gain the necessary clearance
