The role of Senior IT Infrastructure Manager is a fantastic opportunity to join our award-winning team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of the IT infrastructure. This includes managing the team, ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of all networks, servers, and cloud environments meet business needs.

In this role, you will work closely with the IT service delivery team and business departments to support the company's technological needs, manage relationships, and drive continuous improvements in Infrastructure services. You will also be responsible for:

  • Leading on IT systems life cycle management, from design through to implementation and management.
  • Track and report on infrastructure costs, working with our infrastructure partners to recommend suitable solutions/improvements that are effective and in line with the IT Strategy.
  • Managing customer/project requirements within agreed deliverables and budget and ensure the effective transition from project closure to operational support.
  • To manage the technical relationship with our customers by providing advice on the selection, acquisition and implementation of IT systems across the group.
  • Demonstrable experience of organising a busy and varied workload requiring self-motivation and excellent time management skills.
  • Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of IT systems, minimising downtime and optimising system performance.
  • Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation for the IT Infrastructure.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect the company's IT Infrastructure from external and internal threats.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and optimise the IT infrastructure and develop plans to implement these improvements.
  • Establish development plans for team members in line with individual and business needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, including training, coaching and mentoring.
  • Manage projects related to the IT infrastructure, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Excellent communications skills, including the presentation of complex ideas to a variety of audiences.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in IT infrastructure and recommend changes and improvements as appropriate.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance and capacity, making recommendations for improvements or upgrades as needed.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on infrastructure health, performance metrics, and project status to senior management.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements within the infrastructure operations.
  • Working with your team, ensure that backups of all business systems are fully managed, maintained, documented and disaster recovery process procedures are regularly reviewed and tested.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Service Desk & Infrastructure team as well as our users to allow them to fully utilise the benefits of the group's software, providing training as required.
  • Promote and champion the agreed business service levels and how they can affect the prioritisation of work delivered whilst promoting these to your colleagues.
  • Ensure that all IT Change is administered correctly in terms of communications and documentation to your immediate colleagues and business users as a whole.
  • To complete system upgrades and planned works. (Out of hours if required)
  • Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues and contractors to ensure an integrated contribution to the IT department's objectives.
  • Observe and comply with policies and procedures for Health and Safety at Work and promote great customer care.
  • Participate in learning and development activities that develop personal effectiveness and assist in improving performance in the role.
  • Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required in line with the level of responsibility of the post and in order to meet the changing needs of the business.
