Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Category Manager to join our team at Shaken Udder Ltd. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for understanding the shopper and using this insight to drive a competitive advantage.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years FMCG experience in category/commercial/strategy roles, preferably in a chilled category such as milkshakes, chilled coffee, dairy alternatives, or desserts. They will be responsible for leading our premium milkshake category agenda across the Grocery & Convenience customer channels, driving insight and influence at head offices to ensure our branded milkshakes gain a greater share of distribution, space, and primary positions on shelf and chiller.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Tailoring and implementing growth areas across the 4 P's - promo, pricing, placement, range/display across all channels –Grocery/Digital/Convenience/wholesale Cash & Carry
  • Developing retailer execution plans for specified customers and agreeing and implementing long-term category strategies with customers
  • Identifying bespoke areas of growth for customers through interrogating category/shopper data and executing delivery within retailer plans
  • Tracking category and customer performances providing ongoing pro-active insights to internal stakeholders and externally to customers, translating into growth plans
  • Providing monthly holistic external insights, trends, and performance KPI's (Shopper, Consumer, Retailer, Food)
  • Tailoring NPD & Innovation sell-in proposals for customers
  • Providing clear, actionable insights both internally and externally from advanced analysis, generating growth-driving ideas or addressing under-performance
  • Championing the category vision and contributing to the annual planning process, clearly guiding the strategic direction for each key Customer
  • Leading range reviews for customers ensuring a shopper and category-first approach
  • Building solid relationships in customers – becoming the trusted partner of choice through pro-active insight delivery

The ideal candidate will be a curious and commercially astute individual with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong understanding of the FMCG industry. They will be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, building strong relationships with customers and colleagues alike.

In return, we offer a highly competitive basic salary of £60,000-£80,000 per annum, plus a 10% bonus, pension scheme, and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. This role supports hybrid working, with the successful candidate expected to visit our Tiptree office once a week.
