Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Fellow in Neonatal Transport to join our team at the London Neonatal Transfer Service at the Royal London Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior neonatal trainee or post-CCT paediatric trainee to hone their skills in independent clinical leadership before taking up a consultant post.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Neonatal Transport Service, working closely with the Consultant Neonatologist and other team members to ensure the safe and effective transfer of critically ill newborns.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the transfer team and ensuring the safe transfer of patients
  • Developing and implementing clinical policies and procedures
  • Providing educational programs and training for staff
  • Participating in quality improvement and audit activities

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • At least 24 months paediatrics experience and 6 months tertiary neonatal experience or 12 months neonatal experience in a level 2 unit at middle-grade level
  • Good communication and team working skills
  • Good clinical and theoretical knowledge in common paediatric and neonatal diseases
