The Assistant Accountant position within the Retail Finance Function is a pivotal role in tracking the Retail Cost Base and ensuring the wise investment of members' money. This role supports the delivery of the Nationwide Strategy by collaborating with the Retail Finance Team to produce high-profile reports for the Retail SLT and providing key cost analysis to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly accounts by creating accruals & prepayments and interacting with core finance systems.
- Support the senior accountant in creating accurate forecasts to ensure operation within allocated financial plans.
- Respond to stakeholders' queries and assist accountants in analysing data and preparing regular reports using Excel & PowerPoint, Board, PeopleSoft, and other tools.
We're looking for an individual with experience working within a Finance environment, strong analytical skills, and excellent Excel knowledge. You should be able to work with data, generate insights, and provide recommendations. Additionally, you'll need to maintain relationships with key stakeholders and have the confidence to discuss data with them.
