Head of Consumer Insights

As a strategic leader, the Head of Consumer Insights will play a crucial role in driving data-driven decision-making within our organization. This position involves overseeing market research, customer insights, and analytics to provide valuable information that shapes marketing strategies, enhances customer understanding, and contributes to the achievement of business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and lead the implementation of a comprehensive marketing insights strategy and plan, aligned with business goals.
- Provide strategic insights to guide marketing planning and decision-making processes.
- Pinpoint areas of opportunity to further the business and brands' understanding of their brand or category consumers.
- Critically evaluate research methodologies to recommend the most effective plan of action.
- Help inform brands where to play and how to win choices for the UK market.
- Lead the 'merging' of insights from the 2 UK BUs into one and create new ways of working.
- Be the voice of the consumer at all times within the organization.
- Oversee market research initiatives to analyze industry trends, competitive landscapes, and customer behaviors.
- Translate research findings into actionable insights for marketing teams.
- Upskill marketing teams into deeper understanding of more complex research methodologies.
- Develop and implement strategies to understand and analyze consumer behaviors, preferences, and needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate consumer insights into marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Recommend and use data analytics tools to derive actionable insights and optimize marketing strategies.
- Provide recommendations for maintaining a competitive edge in the industry.
- Create and present insightful reports to leadership and stakeholders, conveying complex data in a clear and understandable manner.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with marketing teams, product management, sales, and other relevant departments to position insights at the heart of overall business strategies.
- Act as a strategic partner in decision-making processes.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in marketing, market research, analytics, and consumer behavior.
- Proactively recommend innovative approaches to leverage new opportunities.
- Proven experience in a senior role leading a marketing insights team, within an insights-forward company or industry (likely FMCG).
- Demonstrable experience leading both qual and quant projects across comms, innovation development, and ongoing brand health and equity building.
- Good understanding of needstates mapping, consumer segmentations, purchase drivers methodologies.
- Highly familiar with best-in-class research methodologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Highly numerate and analytical.
