Job Title: Principal EMC Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Principal EMC Specialist to join our team at BAE Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) solutions for our customers. This includes specifying and managing requirements and acceptance criteria specific to a system, platforms or programmes, as well as advising design teams on EMC requirements and design considerations.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave incentive and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. Additionally, you will have access to additional benefits such as flexible working, an employee assistance programme, Cycle2work and employee discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing EMC solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Leading cross-functional teams to ensure EMC compliance.
  • Collaborating with EMC test engineers to design and specify testing regimes to prove system compliance against relevant standards.
  • Mentoring and coaching Engineers within the team.


Requirements:
  • BEng (Hons)/MEng or equivalent qualification.
  • Professional registration at Chartered level or evidence of working towards this.
  • Experience of design for EMC compliance.
  • Knowledge of EMC Defence Standards would be an advantage.
  • Proven experience and ability to lead teams.
