About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Programme Lead to join our team at West London NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for further developing and providing operational support for the Healthy Ealing programme in Ealing.

The Healthy Ealing Delivery lead will use targeted, culturally competent and innovative approaches to deliver or facilitate effective activities to improve health and wellbeing to specific groups. The aim of the role and the programme is to improve health and wellbeing in local communities by improving access and support for the building blocks of health, upskilling the workforce to support local communities in a culturally competent manner and running events to reduce health & social inequalities in Ealing through structured public education, raising awareness and signposting.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Healthy Ealing Team to be the coordinating function to bring together a wide cross-section of stakeholders to run health outreach events for local targeted population groups, including (but not limited to: asylum seekers, people experiencing homelessness, vulnerable migrants, gypsy/Roma communities).
  • Support with the analysis and interpretation of national and local data and national evidence of effectiveness using this to developed targeted local projects
  • Assist local partners in assessing of health and social care variation, system challenges and capacity needs to develop fully embedded health equity programmes.
  • Manage the Team's business support function, including developing and managing the team's business plan, progress and reporting risk and issue management
  • Develop and implement a content management system to ensure information is properly managed and best practice is shared across the team, Directorate and the wider NHS organisation
  • Mobilise and provide education to local partners around social determinants of health and health equity within Ealing.
  • Organise, conduct and facilitate improvement planning in line with health needs assessments for the communities of Ealing
  • Collaborate with local partners to promote health equity in communities
  • Engages diverse community partners in developing, implementing, and evaluating policies, programs, and services that affect the health of communities' Ealing wide

Requirements
  • Educated to bachelor degree level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
  • Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
Skills and Experience
  • Experience of developing and maintaining effective relationships between a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers
  • Experience of developing and delivering training
  • Experience of effective collaboration with voluntary sector organisations and communities
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting
  • Experience of using evidence or theory to develop behaviour-change interventions in different populations
Knowledge
  • Understanding of the importance of the building blocks of health and wellbeing
  • Knowledge of Financial Systems; e.g. budget management, processing invoices and procurement
  • Knowledge of quality improvement techniques and experience of utilising them in the delivery of service improvement
  • An understanding of effective systems for integrated governance
  • Understanding of the NHS National Strategy and Core20plus5 framework and how it relates to the delivery of local programmes
Personal Qualities
  • Ability to prepare communications for dissemination to a broad range of stakeholders as required
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility where necessary
  • Demonstrated capabilities to manage own workload and make informed decisions in the absence of required information, working to tight and often changing timescales
  • Able to plan and organise broad range of complex activities, requiring stakeholder input and adaptation, and recognition of competing demands and realities of operational delivery
  • Able to deliver culturally competent training and health promotion resources
  • Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures
  • High degree of numeracy and analytical skills
  • Ability to analyze complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources.
