Job Overview

About the Role

This challenging yet rewarding role involves supporting class teachers and the SENCO in creating an inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic and social growth. You will be responsible for tracking student progress, managing challenging behavior, and communicating feedback to staff and parents. Additionally, you will assist in leading small group activities and maintaining a well-organized, positive classroom atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs
  • Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to create an inclusive classroom environment promoting academic and social growth
  • Monitor student progress, manage challenging behavior, and communicate feedback to staff and parents
  • Support the teacher in leading small group activities and maintaining a well-organized, positive classroom


Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent degree, as well as experience working with SEN pupils. A strong understanding of SEN support and a commitment to promoting inclusion are essential. We also value candidates with experience working in a primary school setting and those who have worked with children with varying abilities.

We offer a competitive salary of £18,000 - £22,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with opportunities for professional development and career advancement within our organization.
