About the Role

OSI Maritime Systems Ltd. is seeking a skilled Systems Solutions Engineer to join our IMMS product team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in the further development of the overall IMMS system requirements' design and definition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Mission Solution functional description; defining the functional solution needs
  • Support the definition of IMMS product improvements based on customer needs and personal experience and expertise
  • Produce technical level requirements for input to the IMMS product team
  • Perform IMMS solution definition; creating the most suitable sensor, effector, functionality combination
  • Execute market analysis of full MMS solutions and MMS subsystems
  • Develop system designs, defines systems architecture, defines interfaces and specification, performs trade-studies and documents the design by writing SSDD, ICDs, SRS
  • Perform requirement analysis, traceability and maintenance of requirements
  • Coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total system
  • Develop design concepts and generates technical proposal in response to Request for Quotation (RFQ)
  • Attend and participate in customer design reviews and acceptance events
  • May participate in system integration tests, trials, and acceptance tests at customer facilities
  • Write acceptance test procedures
  • Manage scope of work, schedules work, estimates effort and costs, and identifies technical risks; effectively communicates status on a regular basis to management

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or Physics, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing and engineering IMMS solutions either in a Naval, government or industry role
  • Demonstrated know-how of Combat sensor and weapon market for Patrol Boat and/or OPV size vessel
  • Proven track record in the timely delivery of engineering related projects; Strong knowledge of tactical sensors or systems; Excellent knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, standards and best practices; Working experience in network design and architecture;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Familiarity with requirements and verification management tools such as DOORS; Knowledge of safety engineering and human factors engineering is an asset
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a location relevant security clearance
  • Willingness and ability to travel
