About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced academic to join our team as a Lecturer in Health and Social Care at UK Management College, London Campus. This is a full-time position with opportunities for part-time applications.

The successful candidate will design, develop, and deliver teaching materials for undergraduate students in Health and Social Care. Key responsibilities include ensuring high-quality educational experiences, aligning with institutional goals and quality standards, contributing to ongoing research and practice in the field, guiding and assessing students, supporting field activities, and fostering collaborative learning environments.

This role involves:

  • Teaching & Curriculum Development: Deliver engaging lectures and seminars across core Health and Social Care modules, developing and revising curriculum materials, applying varied teaching techniques to address diverse student needs.
  • Student Assessment & Support: Supervise student projects, internships, and field placements, develop fair and transparent assessment methods, provide timely feedback to support student development.
  • Research & Scholarship: Engage in scholarly activities that contribute to the field of Health and Social Care, collaborate with colleagues on research projects, publish findings that impact teaching and practice.
  • Negotiation & Partnerships: Establish and maintain links with health and social care providers for student placements, research, and community projects, represent the institution in conferences and networks relevant to Health and Social Care education and research.

Priorities include handling academic duties such as student admissions, timetabling, and assessment records, ensuring course content and delivery methods comply with quality assurance guidelines.

Key Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Master's degree in Health and Social Care or related discipline; PhD preferred or equivalent industry expertise.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to pursue one; PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education desirable.
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in teaching or training in Health and Social Care at higher education level; practical experience within the health or social care sectors preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles, capable of handling complex situations related to student needs with sensitivity.
