Management Accountant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our finance team at Holden Jones. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for producing accurate and timely management accounts, supporting the Finance Director, and adding value through analysis and commentary.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Management Accounts: Deliver accurate and timely management accounts and supporting information each month, and review with the relevant Senior Management Team.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Partner with budget holders to produce final budget schedules for board approval, and manage forecasting and 6-monthly review process.
  3. Financial Analysis: Provide management information, analysis, backup, and assistance to enable effective and informed decision making.
  4. Statutory Accounts: Support the Finance Director in producing the statutory accounts and Annual Report.
  5. Reconciliations and Returns: Perform balance sheet reconciliations, and produce quarterly VAT returns for the Group.
  6. Day-to-Day Transactions: Manage day-to-day transactions, oversee one Accounts Assistant, including income processing, bank account management, purchase & sales ledger, and cashflow.

Experience of management and financial accounting in a similar role in a small to medium-sized organisation is essential. You should have the ability to organise your own time and that of team members effectively, prioritising workload to meet deadlines. Communicating effectively to a wide audience and being able to present complex financial information in a meaningful and accessible way to non-finance colleagues will be a key strength of the successful applicant. A car driver is also required for accessibility.
