Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead our Energy Intensive Users' Group (EIUG), an industry body that works on energy policy on behalf of sectors such as steel, chemicals, paper, glass, cement, mineral products, industrial gases, and ceramics.

About the Role

The successful candidate will promote the importance of our industries to the UK's economy and environment, communicate the views of the collective membership, and develop strong working relationships with stakeholders, including Government, Parliament, and NGOs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement energy policy positions for member sign-off, including responding to consultations.
  • Lead on developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including Government, Parliament, and NGOs.
  • Provide strategic guidance on energy policy issues and develop recommendations for the EIUG.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective communication and coordination on energy policy matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest energy policy developments and trends, and provide expert advice to the EIUG.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in energy policy development and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK political system and parliamentary processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Project management skills.
